The Xerox/Agent Relationship

Steve Bayless, Vice President

Steve lived in Casper, Wyoming where he attended and graduated from high school and attended college as well. He was working for Albertson's Food Centers where he was transferred to Utah and Colorado as Store Director in several different locations.
He resigned in 1974 to begin his career with Xerox Corporation. Steve then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1975 to establish the area as Xerox' marketing representative. During the eight years he was here, he attained consecutive awards for customer satisfaction and sales achievement including Sales Person of the Year, a nationally recognized award.

In 1981, he transferred to Denver as a Major Account Executive representing some of the largest accounts in the Denver area. Longing to return to Cheyenne, Steve resigned from Xerox Corporation in 1987, moved back to Cheyenne, and began a new concept for Cheyenne and Xerox . . . a locally-owned, locally operated Authorized Sales Agency!

The Sales Agency Program was an enormously successful program, not only for Xerox, but for its customers, as well. By having a local businessperson own a Sales Agency and therefore becoming deeply involved in their respective communities, a new sense of pride and commitment was born! With the Agent owner providing before and after sales support and Xerox Corporation providing administration and technical support, the customer was the beneficiary of local commitment and involvement with the strength of a $17-billion corporation assuring their complete satisfaction and commitment to the end user of its products. Xerox is the only company in this industry that remains committed to the end user consumer of its goods and services, regardless of the size of the sale or the remoteness of where the consumer resides.

Throughout Steve's career, he has always had a passion for customer service. As his passion, it was much more than lip service . . . it was the very core of his being and the reason for his continued success in the marketplace. He has even served as an instructor at the local college specializing in teaching Superior Customer Service Skills to prospective and established small businesses alike. He has been invited as a guest speaker at many organizations within the region.

His philosophy of serving his community manifests itself in the fact that he has served on both the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as their Executive Board, chaired three committees for the Chamber and is a graduate of Leadership Cheyenne. He has another passion for teaching 8th and 9th grade students the importance of staying in school and graduating through a program called Choices, for which he has served as an organizer and instructor for many years.

Steve invites anyone who is curious about the rapidly changing office equipment technology marketplace to call him for guidance and information as to which Xerox product best satisfies their requirements. Xerox is the undisputed leader in high quality, locally-supported and value-priced copiers, plain paper faxes, printers, scanners, and document technology.
Hal Eledge, President
Hal studied "Digital Electronic Technology" at Community College of Denver. He joined Xerox in 1973 as a Technical Representative in Denver. He was transferred to Fort Collins in 1977 to provide service support for the launch of the Xerox 9200, the first two-page-per-second duplicator from Xerox.

In 1979, Hal became a Customer Representative, training people to operate high-speed Xerox duplicators in a territory that went from Colfax Avenue in Denver to Casper, Wyoming. In 1981, Hal moved to the position of Marketing Representative, working in the Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland, CO areas.

January, 1990 is when Hal joined forces with Steve Bayless at Xerographic Equipment Systems by opening the Xerox Agency in Greeley. Hal's current position of  President and co-owner of Xerographic Equipment Systems allows him to use the many skills related to Sales, Service and Customer training acquired over the last 33 years in the industry.

Hal is an Elder at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He is a member of the Youth Ministry Team, the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club, and the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce.

Hal's wife Vickie and their two daughters Kaitlyn and Alexis live in Cheyenne. Hal spends times with his wife and kids, camping, biking, fishing, hiking and taking pictures.
